I CAME, I SAW, I COULD NOT or THE COMPLETE BROWNNOSER

In 2012 Landsbergis directed the play I Came, I Saw, I Couldn’t or The Complete Brownnoser (Atėjau, pamačiau, negalėjau arba Visiškas Rudnosiukas). The one-part absurd comedy is an adaptation of the first book of tales and anecdotes Tales of the Little Brownnoser by Landsbergis. The director explains: “The Brownnoser goes through three stages: at first he is a young and immature rebel, then he ends up in exile, and finally comes back to the once again independent Lithuania where he continues his existence. (...) What is the goal of this story? My aim is to help us stay away from getting serious and remember out childhood with our formal masks casts away. Who is this Brownnoser, the fluffy bear? He is our soul, our joy, our spontaneity and our daring to act stupidly or in the way we want. Every circus has a red-haired clown who is a little clumsy, a little stupid, but nevertheless the wisest of all.”
