AWAY TO THE STATION

Back

In 2008, the audience of “Keistuoliai” Theatre saw the play Away to the Station (Išėjau stotin) directed by Landsbergis who considers it a “crime play of cruel romances”. “Away to the Station combines a wide range of phenomena, including love and death, laughter and tears, day and night, fear and courage, earth and heaven. The play features “cruel romances”, gunfire, chase, blood, theft and treachery, until all of the characters drink poison instead of the toad infusion and die. The play is set in an old restaurant at a railway station with a secret brothel, which disturbs the routine with the conclusion of a sales deal.” (Emilija Liegutė).
